Title: Morphological and molecular analysis of attached Ulva L.green algae from Porphyra rafts from Rudong coasts in Jiangsu Province
Abstract: During Porphyra yezoensis cultivation at the end of the year 2011,attached Ulva L.green algae from Porphyra rafts from Rudong coasts in Jiangsu Province were collected and utilized in these researches. Then studies on their morphological characteristics and molecular biology analyses were carried out.According to the results of morphological research, these attached green algae collected mainly consisted of 4 species, including U.prolifera,U.linza,U.compressa,and U.flexuosa.These were in accordance with the results of molecular biological studies that these algae were mainly included in LPP complex,U.compressa and U.flexuosa.But certain samples had different identification results between there morphological and molecular analyses except FJ04,FJ09,FJ05,FJ06 and FJ07.According to this study, the attached Ulva L.green algae from Porphyra rafts from Rudong coasts in Jiangsu Province at least included four species,U.prolifera,U.linza,U.compressa,and U.flexuosa.Some extraordinary morphological characteristics, such as twist or wrinkled axis existed in certain rafts attached Ulva algae. But they neither had massive and complex branches, nor considerable number of fake branches, that's the important morphological differentiation with dominant species from green tide.
