Title: Change of Soil Temperature and Potential in Winter in Northern Xinjiang
Abstract: 【Objective】It aimed to find the dynamic chage of soil temperature in different layer and potential under irrigation and non-irrigation condition.【Method】We recorded related data via sensor of automation data acquirement system in northern Xinjiang.【Result】The monthly average temperature of soil layer was higher in deep layer than in surface soil from Nov.2000 to Feb.2003.After March, temperature of surface layer was higher than that of deep layer following air temperature raise. The temperature of 40 cm soil layer was 1.3℃ higher than that of 0 cm soil layer.Variability of soil temperature from Jan.to Feb.ranged from 0.9% to 7.74%,and ranged from 8.86%-35.14% between March and April. But the variability of soil temperature in deep layer was less than in surface soil.Soil potential ranged from 22.4 to 145.6 KPa with irrigation, and from 37.7 to 200.0 Pka without-irrigation.During snow melt, soil potential reduced rapidly ,and soil moisture increased.【Conclusion】In winter, the temperature of soil and air was significantly different.Variability of soil temperature was quite various in different stages and layers of soil.Soil potential and moisture had a great variation during snow melt.
