Title: Effect of Virus-infected Tobacco Plants on Population and Honeydew of Myzus persicae
Abstract: Population and honeydew of the aphid Myzus persicae (Sulzer) were measured on virus-free and virus-infected tobacco plants. The principle objective was to evaluate if various viral infections affected aphid performance differently . The results showed that population of aphid was more on PVY-infected tobacco plants than on the healthy plants and CMV-infected plants. Myzus persicae excreted more honeydew on PVY-infected tobacco plants than on the healthy plants and CMV-infected plants.
