Title: The effects of transfusion on the laboratory results
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the effect of the blood sampling on the result of laboratory examination in the course of transfusion and to search for an appropriate time gap to obtain the unaffected examination result after transfusion. Methods:The subjects were divided into 4 groups, with 10 persons in each group.Blood samples were taken from all the subjects on empty stomach before transfusion, and then 500ml of 0.9%NaCl were administered intravenously on the forearm of the subjects. The 1st group, after 1h of transfusion, underwent the same side blood sampling in vein. The 2nd group, after 1h of transfusion, underwent, the other side blood sampling in vein. The 3rd group underwent the other side blood sampling in vein after transfusion. The 4th group underwent the other side blood sampling in vein,1h later after the finish of transfusion.RBC,WBC,HGB,PLT,K~+,Na~+,Cl,Ca~(2+),GLU,BUN,Cr,TP,ALB,AST,ALT,TBIL,GGT,ALP were tested. Results:The same side blood sampling during transfusion showed the greatest effect on the result of examination, with remarkable difference(P0.05).The other side blood sampling during transfusion or after transfusion had the greatest effect on the result of many tests. Conclusion:Blood sampling during transfusion or after transfusion should be avoided. If for urgent need, blood sampling should be engaged in the other side of the infused limbs.
