Title: Spectrophotometric Determination of Nitrite Based on Potassium Bromate-methylene Blue Catalysis
Abstract: The spectrophotometric determination of water nitrite is studied based on potassium bromate-methylene blue catalysis. With single factor and orthogonal experiments, the optimum conditions are obtained as follows: 3.5 mL methylene blue solution,3 mL phosphate acid,4 mL potassium bromate and 2 [KG-*9]mL nitrite solution are added into colorimetric tube.Heated at 40℃ for 3 minutes, then 1 mL acetate sodium solution is added to stop the reaction and the tube is cooled to room temperature, finally the percent absorbance is determined at 678 nm with water as the reference solution. The linear range of the result is 0.1 to 4.0 g/L.
