Title: Texture Image Recognition Based on Invariant Moments
Abstract: Most texture classification algorithms are sensitive to geometric distortion.Moment has found extensive applications in the field of object recognition due to its ability of representing global feature and characteristic,but it is used less in texture analysis.The performance regard the geometric moments as the global features of the image.In experiment,characteristics of texture image are extracted firstly,and then geometrical invariability of the image is verified when scaling and rotation.Finally,the classification of the group of texture images is realized.The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated using a texture set from Brodatz album.The nearest neighbor method is adopted as the classifier in the experiment.The experiment is implemented by the Matlab platform for testing.Experimental results show the simplicity and high classification accuracy of this method.
