Title: Value of spiral CT portography before liver or biliary duct or pancreas surgery
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the value of spiral CT portography (SCTP) before liver or biliary duct or pancreas surgery.Methods SCTP was performed in 76 cases with diseases of liver,biliary duct or pancreas,in which of them 49 cases were treated by surgery.An evaluation of portal hypertension hepatocirrhosis and portal vein involvement by cancers of liver,biliary duct or pancreatic head was contrasted.The finding was compared with the surgical and pathological results respectively.Results SCTP can well display portal vein system entirely as well as complicated anatomy relationship of diseases.The patency of portal vein and presence of collateral in portal hypertension were well revealed.The extent of portal vein involvement was also precisely demonstrated.Conclusion SCTP is a credible imaging modality in evaluating portal vein system before surgery,and it is of instructional value in clinical use.
