Abstract: Chinese prose has been developed through different stages in terms of lyricism: from poems are for expression ambition, writings are for conveying truth of ancient Chinese prose, to treasure individual character and self in May Fourth Movement, then to politics plus poetic flavor in 1960s', and later to the multiculture and the renaissance of May Fourth spirit in 1980s'. The lyrical nature of Chinese prose embodies the peculiar cultural psychology of Chinese nationality.
