Title: Comparison of target controlled infusion or manually controlled infusion of propofol in embolization of intracranial aneurysms
Abstract: Objective To compare the anesthesia qualities, hemodynamics, respiration and adverse reactions of target controlled infusion(TCI) of propofol with that of manually controlled infusion(MCI) in embolizing intracranial aneurysms(ICA).Methods Twenty patients undergoing embolized therapy were randomly divided into two groups: group MCI and group TCI.Anesthesia qualities, time to loss consciousness, recovery time, and the dosages of propofol were recorded as well as blood pressure, heart rate,SpO2 at different time in operation,Cases of restless moving in operation, glossocoma, nausea and vomiting after operation were also recoded. Results There were no significant differences in time to loss consciousness and recovery time between the two groups(P0.05).Total dose of propofol in group TCI was higher than that in group MCI(P0.05).The anesthetic efficacy in group TCI was better than that in group MCI.Blood pressure in group MCI decreased more significantly than that in group TCI(P0.05).There were more cases of restless moving in operation in group MCI than that in group TCI(P0.05).Conclusion The better anesthetic efficacy and fewer adverse reactions of TCI compared with MCI of propofol in embolization of ICA.
