Title: Alteration of myocardial ET-1 and eNOS gene expressions in insulin-resistant rats during normal glycemia stage
Abstract: Insulin-resistant (IR) rat model (n=10) was established by feeding high-glucose diet. SD rats fed with normal diet (n=10) were used as control (CN) group. By the 12th week, the levels of endothelin-1 (ET-1) protein and mRNA of myocardium in IR group were higher than those in CN group while levels of eNOS protein and mRNA in IR group were lower than those in CN group, showing the imbalance between ET-1 and eNOS in myocardium of high-glucose diet induced IR rats during early IR stage.
