Title: Embodied Language Cognition and Its Theoretical Basis
Abstract: Embodied Cognition is emerging as one of the updating paradigms and frontier topics in the field of cognitive science, evocative of multidisciplinary research interest. Combining embodied cognition and language cognition is a new research paradigm: Embodied Language Cognition(ELC), with an analysis of its theoretical implications following a discussion of its epistemological basis, mind/brain organism, and cognitive neuroscience basis respectively from Epistemology, Psychology and Neurocognitive Linguistics, this article puts forward some inspirational novel ideas for creative processing mechanism of symbolic culture for language internalization, language experience, language processing and language production, aiming to provide a reference for exploring new paradigm for the research on theory and practice in language cognition, and improving social performance of language research and teaching.
