Abstract:Objective:To compare the quality of life of female schizophrenics treated with aripiprazole and risperidone.Methods:60 cases of female schizophrenics were randomly divided into aripiprazole group and ...Objective:To compare the quality of life of female schizophrenics treated with aripiprazole and risperidone.Methods:60 cases of female schizophrenics were randomly divided into aripiprazole group and risperidone group.The positive and negative symptom scale(PANSS),treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS),general quality of life inventory(GQOLI) were assessed by all subjects to determine the efficacy,side effects and life quality respectively for 6 months.Results: At the end of 6 months,aripiprazole and risperidone had similar effects on positive and negative symptoms of female schizophrenia.There was no significant difference between the score of PANSS in two groups(P0.05),The side effects of aripirazole group in extra pyramidal system(EPS),weight gain,menstrual dysfunction were less than risperidone group(P﹤0.01).Compared with the risperidone group,the total score of GQOLI and factor scores of physical function,mental health and social function decreased significantly(P﹤0.01).Conclusions: Female schizophrenics treated with aripiprazole have better quality of life than those with risperidone.Read More
