Title: Comparative study on total antioxidative capabilityand SOD activity in different organs and tissues of mud crab Scylla serrata
Abstract: This study was to determine total antioxidative capability and Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in different organs and tissues of mud crab, Scylla serrata by the biochemiscal method. The results showed the difference of total antioxidative capability or SOD activity among different organs and tissues. Among them, total antioxidative capability is hepatopancreas muscle gill in descending order, the value is 71.16 ± 17. 75U/mg prot,28. 55 ± 4.45U/mg prot and 19.82 ± 3. 20U/mg prot, respectively. Superoxide dismutase activity is hepatopancreas gill muscle in descending order, the value is 38. 62 ± 5. 24 NU/mg prot,27. 08 ±4.79 NU/mg prot and 6.33 ± 1.54 NU/mg prot respectively. Statistics assay indicates that there is significant difference among the total antioxidative capability or Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity of different organs and tissues (p0.01) .This is due to the different physiological function conducted by organs and tissues.
