Title: Effect of Spraying Parameters on the Properties of Zn-Al Pseudo Alloy Coating Shell for Arc-Spraying Die
Abstract: The effect of spraying parameters on the rigidity and compactness of Zn-Al pseudo alloy coating shell of an arc-spraying die was investigated, aiming at improving the precision and service life of the arc-spraying die. Thus the Zn-Al pseudo alloy coating was prepared for the die by means of arc spraying, using Al filament as anode and Zn filament as cathode. The effects of the spraying parameters on the rigidity and compactness of the Zn-Al pseudo alloy coating were examined, and the optimized spraying parameters were determined making use of orthogonal test. The metallographic structures of the Zn-Al pseudo alloy coatings prepared at various spraying conditions were analyzed as well. It was found that, at a fixed moving rate of the spraying gun and a fixed spraying angle of 90°, the feeding rate and spraying distance had little to do with the rigidity and compactness of the Zn-Al pseudo alloy coating, but the spraying voltage and air pressure had significant effects on the rigidity and porosity of the Zn-Al pseudo alloy coating. The optimized spraying conditions for the Zn-Al pseudo alloy coating were determined to be arc voltage 30 V, feeding rate 5 m/min , spraying distance 200 mm, and air pressure 0.5 MPa.
