Title: In vitro Antibacterial Effect of Extracts from Solanum nigrum Fruit
Abstract: Microwell plate method and double dilution method were used to investigate the in vitro antibacterial effect of the different solvent extracts from Solanum nigrum fruit on Streptococcus mutans and Escherichia coli.The results showed that the ethanol extract and water extract had partial inhibition on the growth of Stretopcoccus mutans;and the ethyl acetate extract,n-butanol extract,ethanol extract and water extract had partial inhibition on the biofilm formation of Stretopcoccus mutans.The chloroform extract and ethyl acetate extract had inhibition on the biofilm formation of Escherichia coli,the inhibitory rate of them(at concentrations of 1.0 mg/mL) was 89.24%,80.27%,respectively.
