Title: Numerical Simulation for Interface Contact Condition of Full-depth Asphalt Pavement
Abstract: Pavement interface contact condition directly influences pavement performance. The article simulated the interface condition of full-depth pavement through finite element method, and studied its influence on pavement life using three indexes including the deflection on the surface, the tensile strain at the bottom of asphalt layer and the compressive strain at the top of subgrade. The result shows that for full-depth pavement, the interface between base and subbase keeping continuous is more important than between surface and base. The life calculated by the deflection on the surface is largest. If the interface between asphalt stabilized base and subbase is discontinuous, the pavement life is determined by the tensile strain at the bottom of asphalt layer, conversely,by the compressive strain at the top of subgrade.
