Title: EFFECTS OF ANOXIA ON BCL-2 EXPRESSION OF CULTURED RAT HIPPOCAMPAL NEURONS
Abstract: Effects of anoxia on the Bcl-2 expression in cultured hippocampal neurons were studied by immunohistochemical method. The results showed that the mean optical density of positive Bcl-2-immunoreaction (Bcl-2-IR) in hippocampal neurons was significantly increased after anoxia for 2h,then decreased after anoxia for 4h and reoxygenation for 24 and 72h, as compared with control.The positive rate of Bcl-2-IR neurons were gradually decreased with reduction of survival neurons. These results demonstrate that the early iacrease of Bcl-2-IR neurons during anoxia is self-protec-tive effect of brain cell under anoxia conditions.and that Bcl-2 may involve in the modulation of anoxia iujury in hippocampal neurons.
