Title: Pattern-recognition receptors and drug research
Abstract: Innate immune cells can be activated by recognizing the pathogen-associated molecular pattern(PAMPs)through pattern-recognition receptors(PRRs).The PRRs have important functions in pathogen recognition and clearance. In this review, the Toll-like receptors(TLRs)family and nucleotide binding oligomerization domain(NODs)family were introduced, and the important roles of PRRs in infection, inflammation, allergy, autoimmune disease, cancer and neurodegenerative diseases and the possibility of therapeutic targeting PRRs were discussed. The current research status and potential application of drugs targeting TLRs and NOD2 agonists were also commented.
