Abstract: The significance of The Manifesto of the Communist Party, which laid a foundation for Marxism, lies not only in the fact that it officially declared the Communist ideal, but also in its philosophical wisdom and rich ideas about development. Karl Marx and Engels proposed the general principles underlying social development in their exposition of the proletariat revolution and the communist movement. These principles provide scientific guidance to the revolution and construction with Chinese characteristics, and serve as the important theoretical basis in the domestication of Marxism in China. In blazing a trail of socialism with Chinese characteristics, we have not only inherited the ideas of social development in the Manifesto of Communist Party, but also contributed to developing these ideas and creating new ones.
