Title: Introduction to the Fire-Resistant Design of Heavy Timber Structures
Abstract: Trees can absorb carbon dioxide and emit oxygen in the its growth process,wood also is a renewable and recycled building materials simultaneously,so more and more timber structures are used in modern residential and public buildings.To understand better the fire resistant performance and fire resistant design methods of the heavy timber structures,the temperature,mechanical and charring properties of wood were introduced in detail;the calculation methods on charring rate and load-carrying capacity of the tension and bending timber components exposed on fire also were introduced on the basis of the existed research.Fire resistant design method of heavy timber structures was also introduced finally,which can be used as references for fire-resistance design of timber structures.
