Abstract:Objective To evaluate the treatment of mandibular defect reconstruction with iliac flap and titanium reconstruction plate fixation.Methods Twenty-four cases of segmental mandibulctomy for mandibl tumo...Objective To evaluate the treatment of mandibular defect reconstruction with iliac flap and titanium reconstruction plate fixation.Methods Twenty-four cases of segmental mandibulctomy for mandibl tumor or mandibular bone was invaded by carcinoma of near tissue,the mandibular defects were reconstructed immediately with non-vascularized iliac bone mass which were fixed by titanium reconstruction plate.Results Following up 3,6,12 months,all grafted bones were survial.3 cases had limiting of the mouth opening.Conclusions The segmental mandibulctomy with safe borders and immediate reconstruction with non-vascularized iliac crest is an ideal trentment for mandibular defect.Both of the facial appearance and mandibular function were repired.Read More
