Title: Developmentalism and Consumerism: The Difficult Situation and Outlet of Developing Countries' Social Development
Abstract: Since the Second World War, developmentalism or exploitablism has been becoming the guiding ideology of developing counties. There are different manifestations in different historical stages for developmentalism. In the initial stage of modernization, developmentalism is mainly manifested as a development strategy that priority is given to heavy industry and high accumulation and low consumption is regarded as principal character. And while getting into the stage of large-scale consumption, it is consumerism that has been becoming dominant manifestations of developmentalism. Hence, it is critical for developing counties to rationalize theoretical origin, mutual relationship and actual trend between developmentalism and consumerism and find a way out.
