Title: Preparation and Catalytic Properties of Zr(SO_4)_2/ZSM-38 Solid Acid Catalysts
Abstract: Zr-based catalysts were prepared by an impregnation method with ZSM-38 as the carrier. The products were investigated on their catalytic performance on esterification of acetic acid and ethanol.FT-IR and XRD characterization results showed that the Zr(SO4)2/ZSM-38 catalyst has more L acid sites than those of the ZSM-38 carrier, and zirconium sulfate was homogeneously dispersed on the surface of the molecular sieve by amorphous state. The catalyst exhibited fairly high catalytic activity. The treatment conditions were as follows: m(Zr(SO4)2)/m(catalyst)= 30%,calcined at 200 ℃ for 2 h,m(catalyst)/m(acetic acid)= 4.8 %,n(ethanol)∶n(acetic acid) = 3∶1.Under those conditions, the conversion rate of acetic acid reached up to 89.6% and the selectivity of ethyl acetate approximately 100%.
