Title: Study on color Doppler ultrasound of carotid arteries in patients with acute ischemic cerebrovascular syndrome
Abstract: Objective To study the diagnostic value of color Doppler ultrasound of carotid arteries for acute ischemic cerebrovascular syndrome (AICS). Methods The patients with cerebral infarction, the patients with transient ischemic attack, and the patients without cerebrovascular disease were assigned to observation group A, observation group B, and control group, respectively. Color Doppler ultrasound of carotid arteries was performed for comparative analysis of carotid plaques, pulsatility index (PI), resistance index (RI), and blood flow velocity of the carotid arteries, and carotid stenosis. Results Observation groups A and B had significantly more patients with carotid plaques than the control group, and all the patients had a PI above 1. Furthermore, the observation groups had higher RI, lower blood flow velocity, and higher carotid stenosis rate compared with the control group. The condition was even worse in observation group A (P0.05). Conclusion Color Doppler ultrasound has high diagnostic value for AICS and shows promise for clinical application.
