Title: Study on static design methods of web-encased steel-concrete composite beams
Abstract: The new type composite beams which were called web-encased steel-concrete composite beams(WESCCB) have good mechanical behaviors such as high bearing capacity and flexural rigidity and will be useful in long-span and heavy-load beams.According to the experimental results,calculation methods of the bearing capacity in bending of the web-encased steel-concrete composite beams were founded based on the full composite beam theory.The calculated results of bearing capacity of the experimental composite beams specimens were in good agreement with the experimental results,which showed that the founded calculated methods was feasible and accurate.Based on the calculation theory of flexural deformation and shear deformation of reinforced concrete beams,the calculation methods of flexural deformation and shear deformation of the web-encased steel-concrete composite beams were introduced,from the calculated results,it was concluded that the total calculated deformations including flexural deformation and shear deformation of the composite beams were close to the test deformations of the beams specimens,and the shear deformations of this type composite beams could not be negligible.In a word,the calculation methods presented here were be verified and will be useful to calculation of this new type beams.
