Title: Regulatory effect of HMGB1 on tumor angiogenesis in vitro
Abstract: Objective To observe the regulatory effect of high mobility group box 1( HMGB1) on angiogenesis of human umbilical vein endothelial cells( HUVECs) in vitro. Methods We treated HUVECs with HMGB1 and vascular endothelial growth factor-C( VEGF-C) in vitro, and then we used CCK-8 assay,Transwell chamber model test, scratch and repair test and tube formation assay to detect the abilities of proliferation, chemotaxis, migration and tube formation. Results HMGB1 promoted the proliferation, migration and tube formation of HUVECs in a dose-dependent manner in vitro. As a positive control,VEGF-C significantly induced angiogenesis. Conclusion HMGB1 may promote the tumor angiogenesis and angiogenic metastasis, and this is expected to become the new direction in treatment of inhibiting metastasis of tumor.
