Title: Polyploid Induction on the Hybrid of Populus deltoides×Populus simonii
Abstract: The hybrid from the cross of Populus deltoides and Populus simonii was treated with different concentrations of colchicine solutions. The DNA content of the elementary filtrated plants was analyzed by flow cytometry(FCM).The results as follow:The toxic effect to poplar was getting more and more serious with the increase of colchicine concentration, but no polyploid plants were found for those plants whose terminal bud were died.According to the characters of stomata, elementary filtration of the polyploid was carried out from 338 plants.DNA content analysis with flow cytometry was used to check the ployploid, and 2 tetraploid plants were obtained.Tetraploid was different from diploid in plant size and cholorophyll contents, but the SOD and POD activities were not significantly different.
