Title: Effects of Microbial Agents Amended on Municipal Sewage Sludge Composting in Lanzhou
Abstract: In order to explore the influence of the microbial preparation on temperature, moisture content,NH4+-N,NO3——N and total nitrogen in the composting process, the study took the sewage sludge(SS) of Lanzhou as the material, adding the corn stalk(C) and microbial preparation(A and K) on sludge compost. The results showed that, except for the treatment of no addition microbial agents(SS),the temperatures of SS+40%DS+5%C,SS+40%DS+5%C+K,SS+40%DS+5%C+A,SS+40%DS+5%C+2A kept above 50 ℃ for 7 days above. After 20 days composting, when the moisture content of compost decreased to below 45%,the compost could meet the needs of garden. At the end of composting process, the loss rate of total nitrogen is 19.01%,18.46%,13.99%,and 8.54% lower than SS.Thus, the microbial preparation had great influence on temperature,it could promote heating rate while increase the loss of nitrogen. So controlling composting time had a very important significance for shortening production time to avoid the loss of nitrogen. In conclusion, the composting of sewage sludge can be successfully carried out when the temperature and moisture contents are appropriate, and the composting cycle is 20 days.
