Title: Acanthopanacis Senticosi Polysaccharides Protects against Apoptosis of Hippocampal Neurons Induced by H_2O_2
Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of acanthopanacis senticosi polysaccharides(ASPS)on apoptosis of rat hippocampal neurons. Methods The hippocampal neurons were isolated from SD rats aged less than 3 days and cultured, then induced to apoptosis by H2O2.After treated with ASPS,the changes of cell form were observed, the viability of hippocampal neurons was detected with MTT method and the expressions of Bax and Bcl-2 were detected by immunohistochemical method.ResultsThe cell injury of hippocampal neurons in ASPS-treated group was slighter than that in model group. The viability of hippocampal neurons in ASPS-treated group(0.46)was higher than that in model group(0.36)(P0.01).The hippocampal neurons in ASPS-treated group had higher expression of Bcl-2 and lower expression of Bax.ConclusionASPS enhances the anti-apoptotic capacity of hippocampal neurons in a concentration-dependent manner.
