Title: Clinical application of 3-D reconstruction and recombination technique of 64-slice spiral CT in the diagnosis of maxillary pseudoanodontias
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the clinical value of 64-slice spiral CT 3-D reconstruction and recombination technique in the diagnosis of pseudoanodontias in maxillary bone.Methods 87 cases with the diagnosis of pseudoanodontias in maxillary bone by X-ray films of orthopantomograph were checked up by 64-slice spiral CT scan.The 64-slice spiral CT data image in multiplanar reconstruction(MPR),curved planar reconstruction(CPR),maximum intensity projection(MIP) and volume rendering technique(VRT) is recombined by AW 4.3 workstation.Results The 64-slice spiral CT 3-D reconstruction and recombination technique displayed the pseudoanodontias' location,eruption direction and the relationship between pseudoanodontias and jaw,adjacent teeth,locating accurately pseudoanodontias.Conclusion 64-slice spiral CT 3-D reconstruction and recombination technique was important to the diagnosis of pseudoanodontias in maxillary bone.
