Title: Functional Division and Complementarity of Industry Networks in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei City Region
Abstract: Based on the 10%sampling survey data among the national census data in 2000 and 2010,this paper extracts the information on workforce population divided by industrial type, and analyzes the functional division and its complementarity of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH) City Region. The findings can be summarized as follows;(1)The evolution of functional division of BTH represents obviously spatial heterogeneity and industry difference;(2) A typical two-center pattern in network division of labor is emerging in BTH,which shows Beijing has a dominant service function, while Tianjin has e dominant capital and technology manufacturing function, showing the core-periphery pattern of being further strengthened;(3) The industry specialization degree of BTH has been increasing since 2000,which reflects the obvious complementarity of urban economy.Specifically, the manufacturing industry shows an overall homogeneity, while the intercity horizontal linkages of service industry significandy enhanced.
