Title: Study on the effect of extracellular DNA in enterococcus faecalis biofilms in root canal
Abstract: AIM: To research the effect of extracellular DNA while enterococcus faecalis biofilms forming in root canal by observing the influnce of DNaseⅠ to the biofilms by CLSM.METHODS: Biofilm models were formed on polymethylmethacrylate strips and stained with AO/EB.The biofilms was observed by CLSM at different incubation time after dealing with DNase1.RESULTS: The extracellular DNA is increasing with the development of the biofilms in the root canal. The formation of the biofilms are greatly defference between the mediums with DNaseⅠand without it.DNaseⅠ restrained their development.CONCLUSION: Extracellular DNA have an important function in the formation of enterococcus faecalis biofilm in the root canal.
