Title: Study on Mechanical Properties of Nickel-titanium Shape Memory Alloy Wires
Abstract: Based on the TiNiCu, TiNiCr and TiNi shape memory alloys, the mechanical properties and superelasticity of wires under different conditions were investigated by heat treatment and tensile testing. The results show that the high superelasticity of TiNiCu, TiNiCr and TiNi shape memory alloy wires can be achieved by optimizing aging scheme. After aging at 400 ℃ for 15 min and 30 min, water cooling, the hot-worked TiNi binary shape memory alloy wires obtain the high superelasticity. After aging at 450 ℃ for 30 min, water cooling, the cold-worked TiNi binary shape memory alloy wires obtain the high superelasticity. Shape memory effect is obtained for the hot-worked TiNi binary shape memory alloy wires, treated at450 ℃ aging for 30 min, water cooling. After aging at 630 ℃ for 10 min, water cooling, TiNiCu and TiNi binary shape memory alloy wires obtain the high superelasticity.
