Methods Four groups which 15 cases in every group with paediatric elbow injury underwent spiral CT using different parameters: 80KV and 150mA, 120KV and 60mA, 80KV and 60mA,or 120KV and 150mA. The volume CT dose index (CTDIvol) and calculated the average dose-length produce (DLP)was recorded. Image quality of those four groups was compared and scored by two radiologists, and SPSS 13 was used to calculat the result. Results The low-KV scaning, low-mA scaning, or low-KV and low-mA scaning resulted in DLP reduction 86.97%,86.38%and 94.6% respectively compared to the conventional scanning method. There was no significant difference among four groups in diagnostic image quality. Conclusion The children elbow injury Low-dose CT technology may decrease significantly the radiation exposure and guarantee to meet the clinical diagnostic need.Read More
