The result of laboratory exposure test and electrochemical test indicate that the corrosion resistance of low-magnetic steel is worse than that of 3C steel. Microcorrosion test confirms that the inclusion of low-magnetic steel can induce pitting. Metallurgical analysis shows that large amount of AlN inclusions exist in the lowmagnetic steel, and its microstructure is coarser than that of 3C steel. High content of aluminum and large amount of AlN inclusions in 45Mn17Al3 steel have important influence on its corrosion resistance in seawater.Read More
