Title: Research and Progress of Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy in Colorectal Cancer
Abstract: Sentinel lymph node (SLN) are the lymph node firstly involved when primatumor cells metastasis along lymphatic system. So the SLN can accurately predict the status of regional lymph nodes. Today the technique of sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) has been used generally in colorectal carcinoma (CRC). Once the SLN is identified by SLN mapping, pathological examinations can be performed to find micrometastasis. SLNB plays an important role to determin the extention of excision, stage accurately and guide postoperative adjuvant treatment in CRC patients.
