Title: Application of antibiotics in department of infectious diseases in 2010
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To investigate the patients′ information and the use of antibiotics,then analyze the rationality of antibiotics used in infectious disease department,so as to promote clinical reasonable use of antibiotics.METHODS A retrospective study was conducted,in which 88 infected cases in this hospital were randomly selected from 93 infected cases from Jan 1 to Dec 31 2010.Statistical analysis of the use of antibiotics was performed.RESULTS The most infectious diseases among the patients was pneumonia,accounting for 72.73%,followed by bronchitis and tracheitis(4.55%);the cost of antibiotics accounted for 59.65% among the western drugs,the average of the daily cost of antibiotics was 479.43 yuan;there were 254 case-time with medication indication,accounting for 100.00%;there were totally 13 categories(43 types) of antibiotics investigated,the top 3 used antimicrobial agents were cephalosporins,penicillins and quinolones,the top five frequency of using antibiotics were piperacillin/tazobactam,cefeperozone/sulbactam,levofloxacin,moxifloxacin,and meropenem;there were 201 cases(79.13%)who met the medication indications in 254 cases;there were 145 cases(57.09%)who underwent etiological examination with the submission rate of 57.09%;58.27% of antimicrobial agents were combined use of antimicrobial agents;there were four cases with adverse drug reactions.CONCLUSION In this hospital,the antibiotic drug use is overall basically reasonable.However,there are some aspects which are not reasonable,such as the usage and dosage,frequent dressing changes,and drug susceptibility testing;the management and supervision of the antibiotics should be strengthened to promote rational use of antibiotics.
