Title: Expression of EGFR and p16 protein in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical carcinoma
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the significance of expression of EGFR and p16 in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and cervical carcinoma. Methods:The expression of EGFR and p16 protein of 99 cases of nomal cervical tissue, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical carcinoma was detected by SP immunohistochemical staining and the results were analysed statistically. Results:The expression of EGFR was significantly higher in CIN and cervical carcinomas than in normal cervical tissues; The expression of p16 was significantly higher in CIN and cervical carcinoma than in the normal cervix. Conclusion:The results indicated that the expression of EGFR and p16 protein was associated with the carcinogenesis of cervical cancer, may be used as an important maker to evaluate the malignant degree and the prognosis of cervical cancer.
