Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of coronary plaque area on vascular remodeling.Methods Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)was performed in 22 patients with angiographically insignificant stenosis (the...Objective To investigate the effect of coronary plaque area on vascular remodeling.Methods Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)was performed in 22 patients with angiographically insignificant stenosis (the diameter of stenosis 50%).The vessel area,lumen area and plaque area were measured,and the relation between vessel area and plaque size was analyzed,the relation between lumen area and plaque size were analyzed by linear regression respectively.Results The vessel area increased with the increasing of the plaque area and showed linear regression.If the plaque area stenosis percentage is less than 50%, the lumen area shows positive linear regression with the plaque area,(r=0.47,P0.01),when the plaque area stenosis was not less than 50%,this relation disappeared(r=0.43,P=0.052).Conclusion There is a relationship among the external elastic membrane area,lumen area and plaque size.Plaque area has effect on vascular remodeling of patients with angiographically insignificant stenosis.Read More
