Title: The Empirical Analysis of the Influencing Factors of the Inter-industry Spillovers from the Foreign Direct Investment——the Case of Shandong Province
Abstract: This article investigates the factors in the host country affecting the inter-industry spillovers from FDI,using a sample of 27 two-code industries in Shandong Province from 2000 to 2006 with 189 obervations.Based on the previous model of inter-industry spillovers, this paper selects the indicators such as the industrial openness, the technological gap and the human capital and so on,and makes the empirical analysis through establishing the cross-terms respectively and substituting into the basic equation. The outcomes suggest that the higher level of the industrial openness and the structure of the human capital, and the less technological gap the host country has,the more spillovers it will get from FDI that the upstream and downstream industries absorb;otherwise the fewer spillovers it will get.Through the comparison, we can find that the human capital is the most important factor influencing the inter-industry spillovers from FDI among the three factors.
