Title: Comparative Study on Chemical Pretreatments to Accelerate Enzymatic Hydrolysis of Corn Straw
Abstract: Eight kinds of chemical pretreatment on corn straw to accelerate enzymatic hydrolysis were comparatively examined. The factor for evaluation is the yields of reduced sugar by enzymatic hydrolysis of each specimen of corn straw. As a result, the alkali/oxidative [0.176%(m/V) NaOH and 0.9%(V/V) H2O2] pretreatment for 24 h was the most effective method. When the cellulase that used for 1 g corn straw was 50 FPU,the net yield of reduced sugar is 0.333 g/g(corn straw).Compared to the one untreated, this made the net yields of reduced sugar increased by 83.5%.At the same time, the lignin in this specimen reduced by 49.8%,which induced that the removing of lignin in corn straw could enhance susceptivity of cellulase.
