Abstract: In this survey, recent developments and future directions of evolutionary games on complex networks are presented. The development of complex network theory provides a systematic and convenient framework for description of the dynamical interactions of games. The vertices represent players, while the edges denote the links between players in terms of game dynamical interaction. First, some important concepts of evolutionarily stable strategy and replicator dynamics are introduced, and the connection between the evolutionarily stable strategy and replicator dynamics is established. Then, the stochastic evolutionary dynamics of finite well-mixed populations and their relationship to the deterministic replicator dynamics are presented. Some results on fixed probability and time are also given. Furthermore, some recent results of evolutionary games on complex networks such as small-world and scale-free networks are introduced. Finally, unresolved open problems, future research directions, and possible application areas for evolutionary games on complex networks are pointed out.
