Abstract:An experimental apparatus for testing the explosion limits of flammable refrigerants was established following the standard of American Society for Testing Materials(ASTM) E681-01.Factors affecting th...An experimental apparatus for testing the explosion limits of flammable refrigerants was established following the standard of American Society for Testing Materials(ASTM) E681-01.Factors affecting the explosion limits of refrigerants were analyzed.Experimental results show that the physical characteristics of HFC-161/125/32 are similar to those of HCFC-22,its ozone depleting potential(ODP) is zero,and its global warming potential(GWP) is smaller than that of HCFC-22,therefore the new refrigerant HFC-161/125/32 can be considered as a promising alternative refrigerant to HCFC-22.The explosion limits of the flammable binary refrigerants of HFC-161/125/32 systems were tested.Based on the experimental data,the critical flammability line of the mixtures HFC-161/125/32 was plotted.Analysis result shows the importance of explosion limits to the safety of flammable refrigerants in manufacture and application.Read More
