Title: Coordinate urban-rural medical security system:status quo and implication in Dongguan city
Abstract: A coordinated medical security system in urban and rural areas has been implemented since 2004 in Dongguan city, Guangdong province, and then the boundaries of employment status in urban and rural areas has been broken through in 2008, which brings enterprise workers and urban and rural residents into a unified medical insurance for the first time in China. This then enables the objective of universal coverage for Essential medical security for all. This paper recommends experience and methods in Dongguan and offers reference for other areas.
