Title: Religious and Cultural Exchanges Between Fujian and Taiwan and Their Impacts on the Mutual Relationship
Abstract: In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with the emigration of Fujian people to Taiwan, the religion and culture of Fujian gradually formed a religious tie, with Fujian ancestral temples as their roots,Taiwan mother temples as their branches and Taiwan descendant temples as their leaves. In order to maintain and strengthen this tie,Fujian and Taiwan kept in close touch with each other by means of their religion, which played a very important role in their mutual relationship.Since the implementation of the policy of reform and opento-out,the relationship between Fujian and Taiwan has become closer and a large number of followers have come to Fujian to pay homage to their ancestors in the ancestral temples, thus promoting the economic development of Fujian objectively, sublimating their identification with the traditional Chinese culture and promoting the development of the political relationship between Fujian and Taiwan.
