Title: On Different Editions of Early Modern English Drama
Abstract: Textual study has always been an integral part of the study of early modern English drama.Taking Christopher Marlowe and William Shakespeare as two representative cases,this paper analyzes the different editing strategies employed by various editors and the politics involved in different versions of Marlowe's and Shakespeare's dramas.It is also aimed at giving some new thoughts on the recent debates over such topics as textuality,materiality and values in early modern English theatre.
