Abstract:To understand the movement stability problem of a new type of low-resistance magnetic cushion belt conveyor,the air gap characteristics of its magnetic conveyor belt-permanent magnetic support system ...To understand the movement stability problem of a new type of low-resistance magnetic cushion belt conveyor,the air gap characteristics of its magnetic conveyor belt-permanent magnetic support system were studied.The simplified mechanical 3D model of the permanent magnetic support system was established.Also,the mathematical expressions of suspension force,magnetic resistance and lateral force were deduced according to the Maxwell equations based on the reasonable assumptions.Then the approximate relationship between gap and flux density was derived from the analysis of the gap characteristics of a permanent magnetic system and the finite element simulation of the support system under different gap conditions.The simulation results show that the permanent support system under suitable conditions of the air gap can generate a greater magnetic flux density to achieve the stability of the suspension system.The flux density value of the middle section of permanent magnets is larger than other sections,which is conducive to the bulk material handling.Under certain conditions,the relationship between gap and flux density is nonlinear.With the gap increase,the overall strength of the magnetic field shows a decreasing trend.Read More
