Title: HPLC analysis of anthocyanin in the fruit of Vaccinium ashei Reade
Abstract: By finger chromatogram of HPLC, 16 anthocyanins have been detected from the pigment of the fruit of Vaccinium ashei Reade which were introduced in Nanjing from the United States. Fourteen anthocyanins have been identified, among them 12 are -3-O-galactosides, glucosides, and arabinosides of delphinidin, cyanidin, petunidin, and malvidin, and 2 are -3-O-galactoside and glucoside of peonidin. Another 2 anthocyanins are under elucidation. it indicated that the components of the pigment extracted from V. ashei are similar to Myrtocyan extracted from V. myrtillus L., but the ratios are different and the contents are much lower.
