Title: WEI Ye Was Not a Poet of Late-Tang Dynasty Poetry Style——A Study on the Artistic Technique and Style of WEI Ye through His Seven-Character Regulated Verses
Abstract: As early as the late South Song Dynasty,Fang Hui thought Wei Ye was a poet of Late-Tang Dynasty poetry style, but the content and artistic technique of Wei Ye's poems manifested distinct characteristic of Bai Juyi's style.Taking his seven-character regulated verses for example, the content mainly performanced the mutual contact between friends, narrated the matters and expressed ideas. For the artistic technique, his language style was simple, natural and good at narrating, just like Bai Juyi's style. His five-character regulated verses were also as his seven-character regulated verses. Therefore,as far as the artistic technique and style were concerned,Wei Ye was just like a poet of Bai Juyi's style, but not a poet of Late-Tang Dynasty poetry style.
