Title: Assessment Value of Brain Natriuretic Peptide and D-dimer in the Prognosis of Elderly Patients with Cardiac Dysfunction
Abstract: Objective To discuss the effect of brain natriuretic peptide and D-dimer for the prognosis of elderly patients with cardiac dysfunction. Methods 36 health elderly from Jan.2009 to Jun.2010 were chose as control group(A group);35 patients with asymptomatic chronic cardiac dysfunction in the same period were B group;in 104 patients with symptomatic cardiac dysfunction,34 were level Ⅱ cardiac dysfunction(C group);35 were level Ⅲ cardiac dysfunction(D group);35 were level IV cardiac dysfunction(E group). The level of plasma D-dimer and brain natriuretic peptide were measured with immune turbidimetry and microparticle enzyme immunoassay, respectively. The results were compared and analyzed among each group. Results Compared with control group, the level of plasma D-dimer and brain natriuretic peptide in cardiac dysfunction group were obviously increased, the difference was obvious and had statistical significance(P0.05).With the increasing of the level, plasma D-dimer and brain natriuretic peptide were significantly increased, the difference was obvious among each group and had statistical significance(P0.05).Positive correlations were found between brain natriuretic peptide and D-dimer.Conclusion With the increasing of the level of cardiac dysfunction, brain natriuretic peptide,D-dimer and NYHA had positive ralationship, which is helpful to the state of illness evaluation.
